The Gaudreau Family Foundation honors the lives and legacies of John and Matty Gaudreau by supporting programs that empower children, promote youth athletics, and champion animals. Rooted in the values that defined John and Matty both on and off the ice, the Foundation is guided by their unwavering commitment to family and their spirit of kindness, compassion, and joy.
Through meaningful initiatives and community partnerships, the Foundation carries their legacies forward—creating opportunities, fostering connection, and uplifting those in need. In doing so, it ensures their positive impact continues to shine throughout the communities where they lived, played, and inspired others, leaving a lasting mark that reflects the love and generosity they shared with the world.
Program & Event Descriptions
Empowering Children & Promoting Youth Athletics
Purpose: To support initiatives that increase children’s access to ice hockey and organized sports.
Activities Include:
- Establishing Gaudreau Family Learn to Skate/Learn to Play Clinics at local South Jersey/Southeastern PA rinks (and beyond!), which will provide free skating and hockey skills instruction to underserved youth.
- Partnering with special hockey programs and teams to support organizations offering youth special/sled hockey and other programs that enable individuals with disabilities to play and excel at hockey.
Bringing Communities Together
Purpose: To strengthen communities by supporting programs that promote family well-being, encourage kindness and compassion, and foster connection through shared experiences.
Events Include:
- Annual Gaudreau 5K & Family Fun Day
- An annual community run and family event featuring a competitive 5K, a 2-mile run/walk, a kids’ dash, and other family-friendly activities. The event raises funds for the Gaudreau Family Foundation while bringing people together for a day of recreation, healthy competition, and shared community spirit.
Legacy Initiatives Honoring John & Matthew Gaudreau
Purpose: To celebrate and preserve the memory of John and Matthew Gaudreau through charitable initiatives that are important to the Gaudreau Family and reflect their joyful spirits, love of family, animals, and passion for hockey and community service.
